That “innocent” friend who constantly complains about her husband? Slowly, her words shape how you see your own. That friend who insists on pulling you into gossip and drama? She’s sowing seeds of discord. Wisdom means recognising the difference between friendships that sharpen your faith and those that sabotage it. Boundaries aren’t about being harsh; they’re about protecting what God has entrusted to you — your marriage, your peace, and your walk with Him.<h3>Understanding What Boundaries Are</h3>Ask yourself: Does this friendship push me closer to Christ and my husband, or pull me away? If the answer stings, it may be time for a boundary. Start small — less time, less emotional investment — and watch how your spirit feels lighter. When we understand what boundaries are, we can communicate our limits clearly to our friends. This clarity helps in preventing unnecessary hurt or resentment and fosters a mutual respect for each other's needs.<h2>Setting Boundaries with Love</h2>Setting godly boundaries isn't about building walls to shut people out; it's about creating a space where love and respect can flourish. The way you learnt to love from your father becomes the template primarily for how you relate with God, and expect love from your husband. The trust patterns established with siblings echo in how you handle vulnerability in marriage. The boundaries you set with friends either protect or expose your marriage to unnecessary strain.Your relationships are either strengthening your marriage or subtly undermining it. The Sacred Spaces Prayer Journal

On July 12th, Wise Wives hosted the maiden edition of Sacred Spaces at the LightHouse, home of the KUPES Young Women’s Network in Lusaka. The theme, “A Call to Intimacy with God,” invited women into worship, reflection, and renewal. Tickets sold out in just two and a half days — a powerful reminder of how deeply women long to encounter God in close fellowship. The day itself was unforgettable. We prayed, worshipped, laughed, and cried together. Sacred Spaces created an atmosphere where women could put aside the noise of life and truly draw near to God. Their presence was not only a blessing but also a visible reminder that Wise Wives is surrounded by a community of encouragement and covering. The band created an atmosphere of reverence and joy through their music. The devotional reminded us that prayer is not a script, but an honest connection with our Father. Sometimes we speak; sometimes we simply listen. In that sacred space, our words find alignment with God’s will.<h2>The Speaking Life Devotional Experience</h2>Beyond the daily readings, we invited everyone with the devotional into a 4-week community experience. Every Saturday at 8 a.m., we gathered to reflect on the milestone days:Day 7 – Healing WordsDay 14 – Emotional IntelligenceDay 21 – Social Media WisdomDay 28 – Building Trust Through CommunicationThose sessions were practical and deeply personal.
